We consider the fellowship of the body of great importance and strive like the early church to devote ourselves "to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2:42)." We often gather outside of worship for study, service, or fun. We are particularly committed to meeting each others needs in the church and serving each other in the body in a variety of ways: be that, anything from meals for the sick, to help with the bills when times are tight. Most of our body life is "grass roots," planned and executed by our members, rather than, top down planned for us by staff or committee. We do have regular meetings, some of those are detailed below.
Women's Bible Study
Tuesdays, September - May
There are two Women’s Bible Studies that meet on Tuesday, September – May (with a month long break in December), one in the morning from 9:30 - 11:30 am or one in the evening from 7:30 – 9:00 pm. They are lead by one of our women and followed by small group discussion. As needed, the Tuesday morning study will provide childcare along with a proctored room for school age children. Please contact Lynna Sutherland for more information.
Men's Saturday Morning Breakfast
3rd Saturday of the month, 8 -9 am
Men are invited to meet the 3rd Saturday of each month from 8-9 am for a time of food, fellowship, and teaching.
Central, Midlothian, and South Small Groups
Various Locations and Meeting Times
These groups are smaller gatherings of members and friends that meet two times a month for a time of fellowship, study, and prayer. All are welcome and you can choose which group you would like to attend. Please contact Rick Hutton for more information.
Quarterly Mission Spaghetti Dinner
At the Quarterly Spaghetti Supper we bring in a variety of local Christian Service ministries, those that the church supports directly and some are those that we don't support directly as a church but we encourage our members to donate their time and money to supporting. Recently we’ve had The East End Pregnancy Center, Elijah House Academy, Grace and Hope Academy, The Gideons, S.T.E.P., and C.H.A.T., and Prison Discipleship Ministry.
In addition to official church activities, our members regularly get together in various groups for things such as Psalm sings, Bible studies, prayer meetings, game nights, Jr & Sr High youth fellowship, etc. Details about these member sponsored activities, as they occur, can be found in the weekly announcement sheet.
